Wrapping gifts is one of December’s usual activities, but wrapping up the year calls for quiet, reflective moments amid all the busyness. This is the perfect time to decide how you want to manage your time and energy in the final month of 2025.
I like to get a head start on this before the Winter Solstice rolls around so that I can truly enjoy the holiday season for what I want it to mean.
Most of us can agree—it’s time to let go of the old programming about what we should do and instead focus on what feels right and good for us.
We live in crazy times, so it’s important to check in with ourselves before saying yes to anything.
We don’t have to do something simply because we always have.
That said, there are rituals that hold special meaning, and we can happily choose to keep those while skipping the ones that feel like too much or no longer align with who we are now.
Slow down and give some thoughtful consideration to this.
My favorite event in December is the Winter Solstice (December 21st)—and attending our neighborhood Solstice party. I love decorating with seasonal trimmings, stringing up sparkly lights and candles to make our home feel warm and magical, and dreaming up handmade gifts to give.
What would a wonderful December look like for you?
Cozy moments with a cup of something warm by the fire?
Time for naps?
Reading a couple of great novels?
Window shopping and ducking into your favorite café with a sister or girlfriend?
Making your own gifts?
Going to the movies with your sweetheart?
Cooking up a delicious soup and inviting a few friends over for games? No two Decembers are ever alike.
May you pick and choose what feels right for you, Goddess.
