With a quarter moon in Virgo and Venus moving into Taurus, we are experiencing an abundance of earthiness.
We are starting June and nearing the halfway point of the year. It’s time for a check-in with yourself.
The Summer Solstice will be here in two shakes of a lamb’s tail. Well maybe more than two, its on the 20th but I love Irish expressions anyway. You do have time to plan something fun for the Solstice though.
And so, Goddess, what simple pleasures might you conjure up for the season?
Hopefully, you have figured out ways to keep grounded and calm through all the crazy! This has become a real necessity.
Meditation, quiet cups of tea, rest, pleasurable reading, scheduling in-person meetups with friends and loved ones, or perhaps playing games at the kitchen table might be your thing.
June might be the right time to organize a play date for yourself.
When I lived in Northern California, I used to love wandering around World Market just to look at things. And Michael’s, too, sometimes. It wasn’t so much about buying more things but sparking my imagination. Sadly, there isn’t a World Market nearby, and Michael’s isn’t that great here, so I enjoy window shopping around Mesilla and going to the used bookstore instead.
I also love to spend time in a nursery looking at plants when I am not in a hurry.
Venus in Taurus speaks loudly to sensuous self-care, and you could call upon Goddess Aphrodite for some ideas.
Drive to the ocean if you’re lucky enough to be near one, or find some other body of water to enjoy.
You could treat yourself to a lovely pedicure. You get the gist. Think of some sensual delight for pure pleasure that makes you feel happy.
Last year, we went to a lavender farm that lets you pick your own bouquets. It was a nice drive, and I just loved being with all the bees buzzing around the growing lavender and then coming home with lots of fresh lavender.
I do grow a little of it myself, but it was the experience of being out on the farm immersed in it that made my heart sing.
As you chart out your plans for the summer, be sure to include some earthly fun and enjoyment.
